Started playing handball at 10 years old in Cape Verde, where she played for both junior and senior national teams...Was called to represent Cape Verde in the 2010 Challenge Trophy Zone II U20 Championship in Bamako, Mali, where Cape Verde won its first international handball event (for both male and female teams)...Attended college in Portugal and lived there until her mother won a lottery visa to come to the United States as a legal emigrant...Moved to Boston, Massachusetts in January of 2012, where her and her mother started a new life...Has been playing for Boston
Team Handball and coaching handball for the Boston community ever since...As a member of the Boston Team Handball Board of Directors, she has been working to grow the sport in the greater Boston area...Hobbies include spending time with family and friends, traveling, working out, going to the movies, staying cozy at home and watching Netflix, cooking and baking.
