Quick Facts

• Collins is an American professional triathlete, originally from Seattle, now living and training in Chicago. In 2005, he graduated from Columbia University where he was the captain of the swim team, Academic-All Ivy League, and an Ivy League champion in the individual medley. After graduating, he moved to Honolulu to work for a small engineering firm where he designed autonomous underwater vehicles. There he began racing triathlons as a hobby, but was immediately sucked into the multisport lifestyle. He found immediate success in Triathlon, and by the end of 2007 had found his way to the top of the amateur ranks – placing first overall in the Amateur World Championships. He chose not to stop there, and in 2008 he began racing professionally. From 2010 through 2012, he was part of the USA Triathlon National Team, living at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He now lives in Chicago with his wife Abigail (former US National Rifle Team member) Odin, a Rhodesian ridgeback and Tesla, a cat
