Biographical Information
Alex Hall is a versatile freeskier known for blending competitive success with creativity on the slopes. Born in Alaska and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, he moved to Park City, Utah during his teenage years, a shift that allowed him to pursue competitive skiing in the United States. Hall started skiing at age three and honed his skills on the Swiss Alps before transitioning to the slopes of Park City.
Outside of competitions, Hall is a dedicated filmmaker, capturing backcountry and urban skiing clips to showcase his inventive approach to the sport. His "Buick grab," a signature trick, highlights his technical expertise. When not skiing, he enjoys traveling and exploring urban skiing features through Google Maps.
Olympic Highlights
Alex Hall's first Olympic appearance came at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, where he placed 16th in the men’s slopestyle event. At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, Hall earned a gold medal in slopestyle, marking a career-defining achievement. He nailed a complex trick on his first run of the men's slopestyle final, turning a right double cork 1080 into a 900, which helped secure the top spot. In addition to his gold medal in slopestyle, Hall competed in the big air event at the Beijing 2022 Games, finishing in eighth place.
World Championship Highlights
In 2021, Hall earned a bronze medal in slopestyle at the FIS World Championships in Aspen. This achievement came after a strong series of performances in both domestic and international events, showcasing his consistency and skill across disciplines.

Additionally, Hall has accumulated a number of silver and bronze medals, including silver in slopestyle at the 2020 Norway X Games and bronze medals in slopestyle and knuckle huck at the 2022 Aspen X Games.
Early Career
Alex Hall began competing in freestyle skiing at 16, with his first international event in 2014 at Glacier 3000 in Switzerland, where he finished 13th. In 2016, he claimed his first major victory at Mammoth Mountain, California, winning an FIS slopestyle event. His success in these early events set the stage for his future career in both slopestyle and big air competitions.
