1964 US Olympic Mens Basketball Team

The U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team recorded a 9-0 record during the Olympic Games Tokyo 1964. Coached by the legendary Henry Iba, the 1964 squad entered the Tokyo Games with a 37-game winning streak. The Soviet Union team was the other heavy favorite, and both teams had 8-0 records going into the finals. The Americans defeated the USSR, 73-59, to win their sixth gold medal in a row and extend the winning streak to 46 games. Jerry Shipp led the team in scoring, averaging 12.4 points per game, with Bill Bradley and Luke Jackson averaging 10.1 and 10.0, respectively.
